ACCU-CHEK® Inform II Glucose Meter Cleaning and Disinfecting

  1. Turn off the meter.
  2. If the meter is visibly soiled, it must be cleaned first with a PDI Super Sani-Cloth® Germicidal Disposable Wipe to remove the organic material prior to disinfecting.
  3. If needed, dry thoroughly with a dry cloth or gauze.
  4. Next, it is time to DISINFECT the meter. The meter must be disinfected between each patient.
  5. Using a fresh PDI Super Sani-Cloth® wipe (damp not wet), wipe external parts of the meter. Do not allow moisture into the test strip port, do not spray anything on the meter and do not immerse in liquid.
  6. For best practice, wipe the meter 3 times horizontally and 3 times vertically. To achieve proper disinfection allow the surface of the meter to remain damp for 2 minutes then allow to dry before using the meter on another patient.
  7. If the meter is still damp, verify that there is no liquid in the strip port and dry with a clean cloth or gauze.

Note: If the PDI Super Sani-Cloth® Germicidal Disposable Wipes are not available only Clorox® Germicidal Wipes can be used as a replacement. (with a disinfection time of I min wet time).
